NVC’s Newton-Kotch selected as Bay Valley Conference MVP for men’s soccer
Napa Valley College’s Cadel Newton-Kotch was selected as the Bay Valley Conference’s Most Valuable Player and Goalkeeper of the Year and the Storm’s Jovani Jiménez is the Forward of the Year, NVC coach Rogelio Ochoa announced.
Napa Valley also placed four players as first-team All-Bay Valley Conference selections and three players as second-team All-Bay Valley Conference selections for men’s soccer, highlighting a stellar fall season for the Storm.
Napa Valley (7-7-4 overall, 6-3-1 Bay Valley Conference) finished in second place and ended the 2025 season by winning its last three matches.
The All-Bay Valley Conference team is determined by voting of the league’s coaches.
Napa Valley College men’s soccer concludes season with win
The Napa Valley College men’s soccer team ended its season on Friday, Nov. 14, beating Woodland Community College, 2-1, in a Bay Valley Conference match at Justin-Siena High School’s Dodd Stadium.
Napa Valley (7-7-4 overall, 6-3-1 Bay Valley Conference) concludes the 2025 fall season on a three-game winning streak. The Storm also won six of its last seven games and finishes in second place, just one point behind first-place Contra Costa College-San Pablo.

The Napa Valley College men’s soccer team got goals from Mario "Gio" Avina, Michael Soto and Jose Ramirez in a 3-1 Bay Valley Conference win over host Yuba College in Marysville on Friday, Nov. 7.
Napa Valley (5-7-4 overall, 4-3-1 Bay Valley Conference) is now in second place in the league standings.
The Storm has scored 22 goals in 16 games.
Napa Valley College men's soccer has winning streak snapped
The Napa Valley College men's soccer team had a three-game winning streak snapped with a 4-1 Bay Valley Conference loss to host Contra Costa College in San Pablo on Friday, Oct. 31.
The Storm (4-7-4 overall, 3-3-1 Bay Valley Conference) is in fourth place in the league standings.
All of the scoring in the match took place in the first half.
