NVC’s Jayden Russotti named as Freshman of the Year in Bay Valley Conference
Jayden Russotti, a 6-foot-4 guard for Napa Valley College, was named as the Freshman of the Year on the All-Bay Valley Conference men’s basketball team.
Napa Valley, which advanced to the 2026 California Community College Athletic Association Northern California Regionals after placing sixth in the Bay Valley, has four players on the All-Conference team, as announced by the California Community College Men’s Basketball Coaches Association, at www.cccmbca.org, on Feb. 22.
Season ends for NVC men’s basketball with NorCal Regional loss to Columbia
AJ Loustau, Jayden Russotti and Kenny Brown all scored in double figures for the Napa Valley College men’s basketball team, but the Storm lost in Round 1 of the 2026 California Community College Athletic Association Northern California Regionals to host Columbia College, 81-68, in Sonora on Wednesday night.
Loustau scored 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field. He also had nine rebounds and two assists.
NVC men’s basketball headed to Northern California Regionals
Napa Valley College, which won two straight games to end the Bay Valley Conference men’s basketball season, is headed to the playoffs.
The Storm was installed as the No. 24 seed and will travel to Sonora on Wednesday, Feb. 25 to face Columbia College in the first round of the 2026 California Community College Athletic Association Northern California Regionals. It’s a 7 p.m. start with Napa Valley taking on No. 9 seed Columbia.
McCoy’s dramatic game-winner lifts NVC men’s basketball on ‘Sophomore Night’
“Sophomore Night” for the Napa Valley College men’s basketball team started out with pregame ceremonies on Thursday, with coach Steve Ball presenting beautifully framed jerseys to five players: Liam Kilroy, AJ McCoy, Kieran Mannion, Jayden Robinson and E’Jay Rogers.
The night ended with McCoy taking an inbounds pass with just 4.9 seconds to go, racing down the court and hitting a dramatic game-winning shot as the buzzer sounded, giving Napa Valley a thrilling 71-69 Bay Valley Conference win over Contra Costa College-San Pablo.
NVC men’s basketball gets 26 points from Russotti in loss to state-ranked Yuba College
The Napa Valley College men's basketball team fell behind by 20 points at halftime and went on to lose to state-ranked Yuba College-Marysville, 94-58 in a Bay Valley Conference game on Friday, Feb. 13.
