April 24 a very eventful day for Napa Valley College baseball team
Friday, April 24, the last day of the regular season, was so very eventful for the Napa Valley College baseball team.
It was the season-ending game, with the Storm rallying for a 9-8 win over College of Marin-Kentfield, the Bay Valley Conference champion.
It marked a three-game sweep and also the fourth straight win for the Storm, who finished conference play in fifth place.
It was “Sophomore Day,” with head coach Derek Mayer honoring the team’s 12 sophomores later in the day.
“We just had a different energy about us” the last week of the season, Mayer said.
Ninth-inning comeback leads NVC baseball to win over College of Marin
Unleashing a 14-hit attack and scoring two runs in a ninth-inning comeback, the Napa Valley College baseball team won its second straight game over College of Marin, the Bay Valley Conference’s first-place team, beating the Mariners, 9-8, on Thursday, April 23 in Kentfield.
It was the third straight overall win for Napa Valley (14-24 overall, 10-10 Bay Valley).
Dylan Brown led four players with multi-hit games for the Storm.
Napa Valley College baseball completes three-game sweep of Marin
Napa Valley College’s baseball team concluded the 2026 regular season, coming from behind to beat College of Marin on Friday, April 24 in Kentfield, 9-8, and completing a three-game sweep of the Mariners.
Napa Valley (15-24 overall, 11-10 Bay Valley) ends the season on a four-game winning streak.
The Storm finishes the Bay Valley in fifth place, and was 6-4 over its last 10 games.

Napa Valley College’s baseball team began a three-game Bay Valley Conference series against College of Marin in Kentfield on Wednesday, April 22.
The Storm was the home team for Game 1.
A four-run seventh inning was the difference, as Napa Valley went on to a 4-2 win over Marin.
Marin scored two runs in the eighth inning.
Home runs by Gray, Smith lead NVC baseball over Contra Costa
Myles Gray and Wyatt Smith each homered and the Napa Valley College baseball team scored in every inning except the ninth on the way to a 26-7 Bay Valley Conference win over Contra Costa College on Friday, April 17 in San Pablo.
The offense was in high gear, with Napa Valley totaling 23 hits, including seven extra-base hits.
