Napa Valley College men’s golf places third at NorCal Preview

The Napa Valley College men's golf team had four players post scores in the 70's and the Storm took third place at the NorCal Preview, a Big 8 Conference tournament, on Monday, March 16, at Black Horse, in Seaside (Monterey County).

Napa Valley shot a 304-team score.

All eight teams from the Big 8 Conference played in the tournament, which had a field of 48 players.

Dominic Taverrite led the Storm, with a 1-over-par 73.

Lawrence Collins and Will Hutton each posted rounds of 4-over-par 76.

Ian Hall carded a 7-over-par 79.

Also, playing for the Storm was Peyton Alexander (83) and Charlie Larson (89).

Reedley College took first place with a 289-team score.

Sierra College-Rocklin was second with a 293-team score.

Also, playing in the tournament:

Modesto Junior College and Fresno City College, each with 314-team scores; San Joaquin Delta College-Stockton, 319-team score; San Jose City College, 322-team score; and Taft College, 345-team score.

Peyton Woods of Fresno City was the low individual medalist with a 2-under-par 70.

Tying for second place individually was Leo Eisner of Reedley and Oliver Boulter of Sierra, each with 1-under-par 71's.
