Napa Valley College women's golf begins 3C2A State Championships

The 2025 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships began on Sunday with first-round play at the River Course at Alisal, in Solvang (Santa Barbara County).
It's the final event of the 2025 fall season for both teams and individual qualifiers in the field for the two-day, 36-hole event.
The Napa Valley College women's golf team is in eighth place in a field of nine teams after Round 1.
The Storm, led by its top two players, Libby Webb and Kylee Scroggs, posted a 363-team score.
Webb started off posting an 84, good for 20th place.
Scroggs began the event carding an 87, good for 29th place.
Napa Valley is just two shots out of sixth place.
The weather has been a factor. According to a report from the California Community College Athletic Association, posted on its website, on Nov. 16, at www.cccaasports.org:
"With even more rain set for (Monday), the already water-logged course will be pushed to its limit, as will the 64 golfers in the field, trying to overcome conditions not seen throughout the season."
The River Course at the Alisal is a par-72, 5,710-yard layout.
Also, playing for Napa Valley, which placed third at the 2025 California Community College Athletic Association-Northern California Regional Championships last week at Madera Golf and Country Club:
Hanna Ruggles, 91; Rylie Olmo, 101; Hazel Zastrow, 103; Loret Osorio, 107.
Napa Valley finished in third place during the Big 8 Conference season.
The Storm is making its second straight appearance at state.
Orange Coast College-Costa Mesa and Reedley College are tied for the lead, each with 323-team scores.
Modesto Junior College is in third place, with a 324-team score.
College of the Canyons-Santa Clarita is in fourth place, 344-team score.
In fifth place is Mt. San Antonio College-Walnut, 352-team score.
Sierra College-Rocklin and Santa Barbara City College are tied for sixth place, each with 361-team scores.
In ninth place is Allan Hancock College-Santa Maria, 368-team score.
Individually, the co-leaders are Tessa Hernandez of Reedley and Sahya Kitabatake of Canyons, each with even-par 72s.
Alyssa Quilao of San Joaquin Delta College-Stockton and Sydney Streeter of Modesto posted 4-over-par 76's.
The final round of the 3C2A State Championships is on Monday starting at 9:30 a.m.
NVC finished in eighth place at the 2025 3C2A Women's State Preview, a two-day, 36-hole event, Oct. 12-13, at the River Course at the Alisal, in Solvang. The event had a field of 11 teams.
