Brown scores team-best 16 points for NVC men’s basketball in loss to Cabrillo College

Kenneth Brown scored a team-best 16 points for the Napa Valley College men's basketball team, but the host Storm lost on Saturday, Nov. 8 to Cabrillo College-Aptos in a nonconference game, 61-52.

Brown, a forward, had two 3-pointers and was 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.

It was the first loss for Napa Valley (2-1 overall), which won two in a row to start the season.

Napa Valley was in the lead at halftime, 29-28.

E'Jay Rogers and Jayden Robinson each scored eight points for the Storm. Rogers had two 3-pointers.

Napa Valley had six 3-pointers and was 10-of-15 at the free-throw line.

Andrew Degirolamo scored seven points, Ryan Rice had six points, and Kieran Mannion had five points for Napa Valley.

Cabrillo had four 3-pointers and was 9-of-17 at the free-throw line.

Leading Cabrillo was Jonny Gasologa with 18 points, including two 3-pointers and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Walzel Evans scored 14 points, with two 3-pointers.

Daniel Powers scored 10 points and Daniel Strilka had eight points.

Napa Valley's next game is on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Santa Rosa Junior College at 7 p.m.
